From time to time, members of the International Relations Section send photos to Concord about local happenings. Now that the wiki provides a simple way to share them with others, I will try to post whateve I receive.
The first two sets of photos were sent by Whitney Warren in November and December 2007. The first set are Whitney's Pumpkin Story. She explains about the carving of the pumpkins and using the AirDolphin wind power to light them.
The second set of photos are Whitney's Mochi Story. She visited a local elementary school where the students participated in a traditional mochi making ceremony. Whitney gives an excellent explanation of the history of mochi and how it is made and eaten.
I can't figure out why I couldn't get the photos to rotate right. This was a problem in both the pumpkin and mochi photos. Looks like there is one more thing to figure out.
Hopefully, the IRS will upload other pictures in the future. Tom Curtin 3/6/08
